We are excited to announce the release of Softpay 2.3, which is now available on Google Play! The new update is rolling out in stages and will be accessible to all users by the end of week 46.

With this release, we’re introducing our new tipping feature. This feature streamlines the process of accepting tips, eliminating the need for cash and ensuring a smoother flow at checkout. Maximize your tips with ease using the latest version of the Softpay app.

  • Fixed the deadlock issue during transactions: when app users swipe away from Softpay on the "transaction result" screen, the transaction's status is automatically sent back to the POS. A manual confirmation by the user is now optional.
  • Receipts now support masking of specific fields.
  • Google requirement to support Target API level 34.

  • Compatible with AppSwitch version equal or greater than 1.4.0.

Tipping feature

With Softpay 2.3, you can enable a tipping feature to accommodate different tipping habits worldwide. It can be used with our standalone application or by using AppSwitch or CloudSwitch API. You can choose from four tipping flows and change or disable them at any time:

  • Enter the total amount (including tip) before tapping the card.
  • Enter the total amount (including tip) after tapping the card.
  • Entering a specific tip amount before tapping the card.
  • Entering a specific tip amount after tapping the card.

How to reload Configuration


AppSwitch 1.6.0

Together with Production 2.3, we are also releasing AppSwitch 1.6.0.

  • Adds support for white-label Softpay apps.
  • Adds support for 3rd party Softpay apps.

After updating the Softpay app to version 2.3, you may notice a delay of several hours before the tipping settings will appear in the Softpay app. To accelerate this process, we recommend reloading your terminal configuration, as that will update the store metadata and enable the tipping settings where relevant. Visit our Help Center and follow three simple steps to reload the app configuration.
